Gary has been a Financial Planner with Melville Independent plc since it’s very outset in July 2011.
He has steadily built his client bank through recommendations from his network of professional contacts, friends, and family. Gary started his career in financial services with the Halifax Building Society in his hometown of Kirkcaldy in 1984, progressing to become a financial adviser within the branch network in 1989 before becoming a Financial Services Manager for the East Scotland area. He became an Independent Financial Adviser in 1999, progressing to be the Director of Financial Planning for one of Edinburgh’s leading Independent Financial Advisers before joining Melville Independent.
Gary has held the Diploma in Financial Planning since 1997, being amongst the earliest advisers to achieve this award, some 16 years before it became the industry standard. He advises on all aspects of Financial Planning, with particular experience in retirement, investment, and estate planning.
In his spare time, Gary likes to keep fit through his gym membership and dog walking, as well as spending time with his partner, two sons and wider family.
